I've been revamping my priorities. I'm going to focus more on completing my degree than heading towards a career. To that end, I have contacted several professors and advisors at multiple institutions and have visited the Tomball Campus to begin talking to an advisor. I have considered returning to Sam Houston State since that is where I started my collegiate career.

I just hope the Army doesn't interfere with my new degree plan, though they have helped show me where I want to focus my studies. I had wanted to talk to a friend of mine about it, I don't want there to be any confusion with my choice. The Army is going to be sending me to some classes that aren't available to civilians so this new focus is going to put me into an advantage that others don't have, too bad it's top secret right now so I can't talk about it.

Tonight I saw Star Wars episode III at a friends place and let me tell you, I could have figured out a better way to spend almost 3 hours, rather than watching a movie at a strange girls place. I don't get Lucas, he could have done a better job, the first three prequals are too much of a love story for my tastes and don't even come close to the original three which are now the middle three. Anyway, they're just movies. The night was okay, but it wasn't where I wanted to be so now I'm home and I've got a lot on my mind. There's someone in my life that I care about deeply, yet I can't tell her how I feel, even though she already knows. I miss you.

Today was fun, I spent it with family and with others. My nieces continue to amaze me, despite all the adversity in their young lives, the constant moving around and uncertainty they are both beautiful and highly intelligent young ladies. My niece Haley's lowest grade on her report card was a 92?! Amazing and Cheyanne is doing equally as well in her classes. I just hope they don't get too bored with school, they're teachers don't send any homework with them? Thats crazy, whats going to happen when they get older and are faced with homework and other take home assignments? I want so much for them to succeed. I know there are online resources, such as Discovery.com and the various homeschool sites, but I'm going to also look into picking up some books I've seen at walmart and other places for them to do at home. I think this will help them, but I'm going to give the stuff to my sister and let her take control from there.

I love her with everything I have and despite everything thats happened I still love her. I will always love her and no one else. she doesn't know how much these past few years have torn me apart by being away from her. I tried to let her know how I felt. I have loved her all this time.

These past couple of days have been long ones for me. I have been helping a friends family out, He was called away suddenly to Fort Hood and his wife is very sick, so I've been helping out by clearing limbs from the yard, moved furniture and painted the living room (They have new furniture being delivered tomorrow, made dinner then cleaned up, helped with the kids (he's got two great boys, Halloween was a bit wet, but still fun).

On the way home however, I stopped at a starbucks and ran into the friend that I had previously posted the apology too, I didn't know they would be there, I wasn't looking for them to be there, I was just tired and on my way home and thought a little caffeine might help with the long drive. I just said hi, when I should have just turned and walked away. I wasn't going to stay. I had made a promise and was going to stick to it. I didn't get the opportunity.

If you read this, I'm sorry. I didn't know you would be there. You don't have to worry about me showing up there again. I won't ever go to that starbucks again.

It's been a year since my grandfather passed away and the pain and loss still haunts me. I miss him and his laughter, his smiles, his purple suit. He was a success in life, he had a loving wife and family and he lived to help others. I still have some wooden toys that he made me as a child, nothing spectacular, a wooden train and a airplane, but they are special to me. I miss you grandpa.

I have one grandparent left now, my grandmother, his wife. I don't know how she has the strength to keep going, she's tough and has family beside her. I know it's hit her hard and all I or any of us can do is to support and love her.

I love my family very much, I hope they know this. I'm not always open with my feelings, I tend to hold things inside. Mostly from fear of being hurt and it's a big part of why I started writing, it's an outlet for me, it helps get my thoughts, feelings and emotions out into a jumbled mess, sometimes it doesn't read right or isn't very clear or make sense. It's all free flowed writing just as a form of release, sometimes its not even clear to me even days afterward. I wonder what was I thinking?

I need to get going, there are some appointments today that I can't miss.

An update on whats been going on in my life or something like that for those of you who might still read this.

I'm still looking for a civilian job and living at my parents. I'm living off my savings`and the occasional odd job. I'm just trying to keep busy and motivated so that when I do get another job I'll be able to make the transition that much easier.

I have been interviewing at MD Anderson. In fact I've had a total of 5 interviews so far and I'm still waiting to hear from them. MD Anderson isn't the only place I've been interviewing, I've been going to career fairs and employment agencies all over town. I'd like to stay on the Northside because of traffic, but it seems that the opportunities aren't on the Northside.

Once I get the job or when the New Year rolls around I'll be enrolling into classes again at either UH-Downtown or SHSU, I've been exploring opportunities at both institutions and at the University center for North Harris and talking with friends who have knowledge of each. I don't know about getting a professional position and how that would influence my education.

Would getting a fulltime job affect my studies? undoubtedly, but I need to make enough to survive on, but does that mean I should get a place of my own or stay here at my parents? I can't continue to stay here, we keep getting into arguments and yet we have moments where everything seems to be great, I just need my space and they don't seem to realize that at times.

The situation with my unit is one of constant flux. I just don't know what they want from me, when I talk to them about being reactivated they tell me they need people, but they haven't started the paperwork yet to get me mobilized. They go back and forth with sending me on missions and this plays hell with my life. I keep giving to the Army, but they give so little in return. They take and take and yet don't seem to want to help me out when I need it. I just don't understand it.

I worry about my sister and her family a lot, my brother lives with them and I sometimes feel they take advantage of him too much. He needs so much, but I don't have it to give. They don't take care of themselves, well lets just say there are things I see as an outsider, but they seem to be happy. Who am I to say whats good for them?

I sometimes worry about things too much. I've been trying to get in contact and hang out with old friends and people who matter to me as well as make new friends. I'm still establishing myself here in Houston and I'm grateful to my friends who've been there to listen and help keep me motivated and going. I hope they know how much they all mean to me.

It's been rough, I feel like this has been a good step in coming back to Houston, there's a lot here that I've been missing. I have hopes of great things being accomplished soon despite certain setbacks.

I know I haven't posted anything of worth here in a long time, it's just that I've been going through a change in my life. I'm attempting to correct some mistakes and to regain something precious which I thought was lost, but there is always hope.

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. 4 years ago today, in a few hours the world changed forever. I remember. Do you?

I know where I was and what I was doing and I still can't believe it happened. I mourn not only the individuals who lost their lives, but the innocence and isolationist thought that America lost, though some would say that thinking about the world and how it affects us all is a good thing. I am one of those people. We all need to look beyond our borders and see the world, We need to think of others and help them, even though they might not help us. This is especially true in the wake of so many natural disasters throughout the world. The Tsunami, the Hurricanes that hit the southern America coastline, the stampede that cost a thousand lives in Iraq and so many other events that could have been averted or at least planned better for, yet unfortunately they were not and we cannot dwell upon the past mistakes too long, we must acknowledge and move forward and deal with the situation now. So think about your fellow man and woman and see how you can help them and in the end you will be helping yourself. Thank you.

In Remembrance of September 11

It was 8:46 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on September 11th, 2001, when American Airlines Flight 11 slammed into the first of the twin towers in the World Trade Center of New York, changing our world forever. Unlike the attack on Pearl Harbor, the images of that day were transported instantly to the homes of practically every American -- the approaching second aircraft; the dark billowing smoke; the collapse and the ashes whitening the faces of dazed businessmen; and the Pentagon, a symbol of our nation's military might, in flames. A dark hole in the Pennsylvania countryside marked the spot where valiant American patriots perished to protect still other victims of a vicious terrorist enemy.

The images are imprinted in our minds. But the true lesson of that day was what we learned about ourselves as Americans. We learned how the worst of acts bring out the best in us: firemen and policemen running into burning buildings, leading others to safety. Others running -- not from the city -- but to it, bringing medical help, food, and shelter. Strangers throughout our country asked; How can we help? What can we do? We re-discovered the greatness of the American spirit.

Members of the Army Reserve were among the first casualties of the Global War on Terror and among its first heroes. Nine members of our active and retired ranks would die in the combined attacks that day. Five were New York firefighters who perished rescuing others: they were Capt. Mark P. Whitford; Capt. Michael D. Mullan; Warrant Officer 1 Ronald P. Bucca; Staff Sgt. Frederick J. Ill; and Sgt. Shawn Powell. Retired Col. Rick Rescorla risked death numerous times, while leading hundreds to safety. And much of the military equipment delivered to ground zero was brought by Army Reserve Soldiers from nearby units.

Among the first Soldiers our Army deployed were those of the 311th Quartermaster Company (Mortuary Affairs) from Puerto Rico. They deployed within 72 hours of the attacks to the Pentagon where they reverently and meticulously gathered the remains and personal items of the 184 victims of that attack.

Since that terrible day, more than 140,000 Army Reserve Soldiers have answered our country's call to duty in this war. Eighty-eight of our ranks have paid the ultimate price and 668 have been gravely injured.

Those who attacked us expected to cause financial ruin and panic. They believed they could immobilize or intimidate Americans. Instead, we find America and its spirit as strong as ever. The havens of the terrorists are routed. Two countries that had suffered under the rule of thugs now work to build their own future. Democratic ideals are being nurtured as carefully in Afghanistan and Iraq today as they were in this country a few centuries ago.

The freedom from tyranny many of our grandfathers brought to Europe and Asia during the 20th century, this current generation of American patriots defends for us and secures for those in Southwest Asia.

In the words of our President: There is no greater calling than service in our armed forces. We live in freedom because every generation has produced patriots willing to serve a cause greater than themselves. Those who serve today are taking their rightful place among the greatest generations that have worn our nation's uniform. You, my fellow Army Reserve Soldiers, are that current generation of American patriots.

I am humbled to serve with you. It is your selfless acts of honor and service that remind the world of the greatness and the immense depth of the American spirit. God bless each of you and your families. And God bless this great country of ours, the United States of America.

It's Thursday, August 11th and I've spent my day well, at least I think so, though I was thwarted at multiple angles on several different things, I did run into some old friends, got some of the records I needed and ordered more so that I might be able to compile a concise case.

Living with my parents again is a bit unsettling, I hadn't ever planned to come back home, but then again can I call this 2 bedroom apartment a home? My parents constantly continue to fight and argue, which makes me wonder if they do this while I'm here or if they have an even better relationship when I'm gone? They've got so many issues it's not funny, but they're family. I can't seem to communicate with them, especially my Dad, it only takes him just a few words to piss me off and I don't know if he's doing it on purpose or not, but enough of that for now, it's making me feel more than unhappy. I need this to be a very temporary situation.

I've spoken with several friends that are down here and who have their own places, they've most of them agreed that it would be great to have a roommate or something like that, I just don't know about moving in with friends again. The last few times I've moved in with someone I've cared about things just haven't seemed to go right for either parties involved. What can I do though? I can't stay here and I don't want to be a burden on any friends that I might go live with, I want to be able to stand on my own two feet.

The Army has me set up for several missions coming up, so I'm going to be out and about around the country, if you see me stopping at a city near you then drop me a note and say hi.

In our fast-paced society we rarely have a moment to stop and consider the meaning of our beliefs, thoughts, or actions. We often find ourselves rushing to work, rushing to eat, rushing to exercise, rushing to sleep, rushing to rush, never taking the time to determine if we are happy, or sad, or if we can feel anymore at all. I hate it when I see good people get caught up in the bullshit. It makes me sad. I know a lot of really good people who talk shit because they have nothing better to do than get in to other peoples buissness.. Sad sad sad...If you are over the age of 18 and are out of high school...Save it plase. You have no excuse and a lot of the people that have drama, dont even need it. They just want it. Whether it be for attention or what...I don't know. Get over yourself people. No one cares (especially me!!!)...What you think. If I say something behind your back it's only because you're not around for me to say it straight to your face. If you don't know that about me then you are not my friend..

What Age Do You Act?

Life is odd sometimes, just when you seem to think you're moving forward you're blind sided on some idle Wednesday afternoon. This is what happened to me and the days that followed only served to get worse by the moment.

1) I recieved a letter from the Army that I may be involuntarily separated due to Army physical fitness failure, I had an opportunity to pass again and I failed. Was it due to stress? A resignation to my fate? Or was I simply not prepared for it?

2) I came into Houston that following weekend, tired, a little stressed from the letter and lack of sleep. I came in and the first thing my father tells me when I walk through the door was that my Grandfather had died and no one knew when or how. Also my Grandmother who has alzheimers is missing. No one knows where she is or even if she's okay. And apparrantly there are strangers living in my Grandparents house. the thing is that my Grandfather passed away in October of 2004 and nobody knew, no one talked about it, no one mentioned it and I daresay that he didn't get the funeral that he deserved. I don't know what to do, how to feel. I can't seem to cry and I feel so detached from it all.

3) I came back from Houston reluctantly with these weights upon my shoulders, with doubts in my mind and questions always questions, I figured if I threw myself into work that I could forget, but I cannot, will not forget and I think about it all the time, especially late at night when I can't sleep and the thoughts of the world weigh upon my mind.

4) I went in to work on Tuesday of the following week only to find out that someone had called in to the center and complained about me and some other people they had played against on xbox live, I work as a Tech Support agent for xbox live and so do many of my friends on live and some of them like to throw their weight around and threaten to voice ban or ban players for cheating or other offenses on the xbox live system, which we have rights to do. So since someone complained and used my gamertag or username on xbox live they tied me and other gamers/tech support agents to the account, but couldn't tell which of us did what. So they gave us all "Final Warnings" and told us that we could have lost our jobs for what had occurred.

5) there are other things going on in my life, I'll be 28 in June, can you believe that? There are so many things I want to do with my life and yet I feel like I'm not doing any of them and it's all just passing me by. It's frustrating and I know I sound like a broken record on here, but it's the truth.

6) I'm still single and yes there are women in my life that I would love to pursue a relationship with it just seems that at times things don't work out, or I'm too far removed from being able to connect with someone. Why is this? I have the capacity to love, to cherish a woman in my arms, to talk with her at length about life liberty and the pursuit of happiness or whatever. Why can't I be happy, why can't someone love me as easily as I love them?

7) I want to be in school again, I have the will, the intelligence, but it seems like my GI BILL paperwork from the Army is always messed up and I don't have the greatest love for paperwork in the first place. I just need to grab the bull by the horns and get into work.

I know I talk a lot of fluff at times and I have all these wishes, hopes and dreams for my life and hopefully for sharing that life with someone who cares about me as much as I care about her. I'm just overwhelmed a lot, it seems like I'm drowning, yet every now and then I can find a calm spot in the storm and rest for a bit and then the next big wave hits you and you go under again. Here's how to commit seppuku (with a frisbee) according to www.realultimatepower.net

Seppuku is the ancient art of killing yourself if you get super pissed and can’t find anybody else to kill. Ninjas use all sorts of crap to kill themselves—guns, ropes, knives, lasers, spears, etc.—and don’t even think twice about it. But if you want to commit Seppuku and you’re like me, you don’t have access to stuff like lasers. But there’s hope. I tried to kill myself by swallowing a frisbee a couple of times—and believe me, it’s pretty cool. The only catch is you have to be really super pissed to do it.

Step 1 Get a frisbee from the store or friend.

Step 2 Clean the Frisbee.

Step 3 Make sure your parents aren’t around

Step 4 Put something slippery on it, like butter or cream.

Step 5 Get really super pissed.

Step 6 Fold the Frisbee hard (this is crucial)

Step 7 Keep folded and insert Frisbee into mouth hard.

Step 8 Push hard until you can’t see it.

Step 9 Wait.

Step 10 Die.

So I recieved this package in the mail and basically it says I have to respond 30 days from today with some sort of response.

I don't know I don't remember the tests they're quoting, some are months to over a year apart. I was counseled a few times, but not all the times and I don't ever remember recieving a copy of it. I have records of things here at home, but a lot of stuff was lost or displaced during the moves.

I've been told I could contact the JAG office, but I don't know how much the jag office can or would be willing to help me with anything regarding this, especially if I fail this Saturday. I don't know what to do, it's caught me off guard as well, I haven't seen or even spoken to the commandant or anyone about this in months and then from out of nowhere I recieved this package in the mail.

I work hard, I'm a good soldier, I have sacrificed a lot for the Army and the 75th. I've been coming to drill for free for over a year, I've been unemployed and unable to eat or make my rent, but I drive over 200 miles to come to a unit to be yelled and abused for two days, I'm so tired after drills on Sundays that I can't drive back to Austin and have to miss a day of work after finally getting a job. I've withdrawn from college courses just so I could go on missions for this unit. I've lost girlfriends, women I love because of my commitment to the idea of duty, honor and country and selfless service to others without considering myself.

Honestly, I've been tired and frustrated about the unit, about working hard and seeing nothing as a result. Yes I know what they're talking about. I haven't passed my APFT and I was on the weight control program. I've lost the weight, hell I've lost more than enough weight and I keep losing weight, does this mean that now I'm eligable to be kicked out?

I also have trouble with my situps, I work out, but I guess it's not enough. I can do them here at home just fine, but when I get out there to do them on the field, it's like I have this mental block or something. I don't know if I'll pass this weekend and even if I do it looks like it doesn't matter anyway since the way this paperwork is worded I'm already gone.

My week is turning into a repetitive moment of waking up at about 12ish getting ready for work/notdoing anything till about 3ish then going to work till midnight or just a bit later, coming home and staring at the wall or tv it doesn't really make much difference, then eventually turning everything off and trying to sleep, then starting the whole process all over again. I need to work on managing my time a bit better I guess.

What are you doing Saturday? I had plans, but they were canceled and no you're not an afterthought these were work related plans. I'll be off of work from around midnightish Friday night and won't have to go back till about 3ish on Sunday. So there's plenty of time to get into trouble.

I finally found a gig, it's still temp to perm and I'm working my best to get hired on. I'm working at Harte-Hanks, its a call center for xboxlive technical support. not the kind of work I thought I'd be doing or even interested in, but I enjoy helping people and perhaps this will lead me into something better, though I am going to continue with school.

apparantly I don't have access to any instant messenger program right now. I'm on my Dad's pc, god this thing is so full of crap, there are toolbars for the toolbars and you wouldn't believe the clutter on the desktop. aww but I love my dad, he's a hardware guy, I'm a network guy, somewhere we need to find us a software guy, but oh wait that's my buddy Zach, he's like a brother and knows the most random off the wall things, For example he can speak in binary, SPEAK IT!! and be understood if someone copies it down and enters it into this translator program, crazy huh? Anyway I'm at my parents hacienda here in lovely Tomball, Texas, which is just north of Houston and I'll be getting up in a few hours to beat my brains to the sounds of a military march. mmm.. mmm... good.
